The first is by The Fairline Parkway and it’s the sublime ‘Eaves.’ What a gently shimmering track, reminds me a little of American Analog Set. Check out the album too, it’s all great!

The second best new tune is ‘Duck And Cover / Hiroshima’ by My Big Ego. A chunky slice of glitch’n'bass that got girls whooping when it came on – and you know that’s always a good thing!

Gary Numan

The best old track was ‘Observer’ by Gary Numan. I was a teenage Numanoid and it’s pretty obvious that his synthiness has stuck with me since then in the music I make myself. Where would synthpop, electro and all their modern derivatives be without Numan’s huge influence? ‘Observer’ is just perfect.
