Bzangy Playlist 25/6/08

Woohoo! Despite logistical problems that were surmounted with the help of friends (thanks Liz + Ben!), last night’s DJing went swimmingly. Plenty of people turned out and it was great to be able to play soooo much new music, with a few classics sprinkled in too.
I’m now on the hunt for a regular venue [...]

Finally, A Great Night Out!

Click the pic for some shots from tonight!
Tonight/this morning/whatever the hell it is now, I’m a happy Jyoti.
Things have been quite depressing lately: a funeral, health problems, horrible war news and Derby weirdness.
Usually, I can dance myself out of the blues, at least for a short while. I love dancing. I’m no good [...]

The USA Tortured Innocents Says US Major General

Medical examinations of former terror suspects held by US troops showed proof of physical and psychological torture, a US-based human rights group said.
The Physicians for Human Rights group cited beatings, sexual abuse, electric shock, isolation and forced nakedness.

Police Riot At Peace Demo

The ban on the demonstration down Whitehall to protest the visit of war criminal George Bush was enforced with violence by the Metropolitan police. Two protestors were hospitalised by baton weilding police. Stop the War Coalition have organised over 20 national protests all of which have been peaceful. We have written a letter of protest [...]

Firefox 3 On OSX

Soooo… just downloaded the brand-new Firefox 3 and I have to say, I’m a little under-whelmed.
First of all, I kept getting an error sound when I tried to click on anything. Had to force-quit. Eventually, through playing around with Spaces, I discovered that this window:

…spawns *behind* the main Firefox window on every start. I thought [...]

The Journey Home

Click the pic to see some shots I grabbed on the train on the way home yesterday. It was a startlingly beautiful sunset, quite otherworldly.

Bush Not Welcome Here Demo

Click the pic for the gallery!
Today, (well, yesterday now) I went on the Bush Not Welcome Here demo.
This was a protest against the war criminal George Bush coming to Britain and being treated like royalty instead of being thrown in jail.
We were meant to march to Downing Street but this basic right of [...]

Sign Of The Times

I was just looking at the playlist for my Summer Singalong comp in iTunes and I noticed…
… how much of it I’ve bought as downloads!
Of the nineteen tracks, only four are ripped from CDs I’ve bought. Nine are digital downloads from Emusic, five from iTunes and one from Play.
I guess I’m not buying CDs any [...]

Why Has Apple Broken My Apple TV?

Sooo… ages ago I did a post about the glitchiness of the post version 1 software. I concluded it wasn’t worth the candle and went back to my factory version 1 software. My Apple TV then worked perfectly, no glitching, sputtering or mysterious un-syncs.
A few days ago, I switched it on to find it [...]

Summer Singalong 2008

The time has come, baby loves, for the Summer Singalong CD comp. Every year, I make a CD to stick in my car which is as singalongy as possible and usually includes a lot of new tracks as well as some choice oldies. I’m going for pure, silly harmony, groovy grooviness here, not trying to [...]
