This Is How I Feel About My Government

A different country, a different time, the same evil:

It is certain that today every honest German is ashamed of his government. Who among us has any conception of the dimensions of shame that will befall us and our children when one day the veil has fallen from our eyes and the most horrible of crimes … reach the light of day?

Secret dossiers, cluster bombs, the immense horror that we have committed in Iraq. I’m overloading with it all.

Unlike the brave Germans above, we still have the chance to raise our voices in public.

For now.

But the way Britain is going, how long will that freedom exist? How long before any dissenter is rounded-up and executed as a terrorist sympathiser?

If you don’t protect your freedom, it will be ripped from you. It happened before and it’s happening now.

Have you got the same courage the White Rose? Or will you be one of the Germans that turned the other way?
